10 week is the mark ends the embryonic period and officially begins the fetus period. By week ten the babies are at less at risk for congenital malformations, which usually occur during the first nine weeks of pregnancy.
Today is the last day of progesterone!! I have been using them twice a day since my ER and they are completely disgusting. I am so thrilled to be done with them. Anyone who has been on progesterone can completely empathize.
Pregnancy feels different to me than I thought it would. I feel like the last 6 weeks I have lived my life in complete fear that something bad is going to happen. I am hoping that the second trimester would bring me some confidence that everything is going to be ok.
I was going to put a picture of my first belly shot this week but there is nothing to show. My pants are tight but I really don't have any bump yet.
How your babies are growing:
Though they are barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your babies has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. They are swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy. If you could take a peek inside, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. In other developments: Your babies' limbs can bend now. Their hands are flexed at the wrists and meet over their hearts, and their feet may be long enough to meet in front of their bodies. The outline of their spines are clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from their spinal cords. Your babies' foreheads temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on their heads, which measures half the length of their bodies. From crown to rump, they are about 1 1/-4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your babies will again double is size — to nearly 3 inches.

Yay for no more progesterone! And for graduating to littel fetuses.
I hate how stressful the first trimester can be. You're almost to the 2nd trimester!!! The worrying never really stops (that's what mommyhood is all about!) but I think you relax a lot more the further you get.
YAH for the last day of PIO and for the 10 week mark!!
