Week 11 from the lovely Cayman Islands

I am thrilled to be visiting my sister in the Caymans and crossing our next milestone. It is so nice to be in the sun and warmth and away from work and day-to-day life.

My morning sickness is starting to ease up and I have days where I feel like my old self. I can definitely tell when I have done too much though because the exhaustion and nausea comes back the next day threefold.

I had my first trip to the ER (well urgent care) on Wednesday night because I had some strong pains. They ran blood tests and did a urine sample and everything seems to be normal. The doctor said that if I had any other symptoms, to call right away. I guess that means that the babies are trying to grow. They keep reassuring me that it is all perfectly normal. Never having been pregnant before, it is so hard to know what is normal and what is a possible issue. I am glad we went and they said never hesitate to call.

Our next OB visit is next Friday. It will be great to compare how they look at 12 weeks versus where they were at 8 weeks.

Week 11 of Pregnancy

Your babies, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, are now almost fully formed. Their hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under their gums, and some of their bones are beginning to harden. They are already busy kicking and stretching, and their tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as their bodies grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your babies' acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that their diaphragms forming.

I don't know about you, but I have no idea the size of a fig, so I posted one to give you an idea.
