Level II U/S - Not what we hoped but still good

We had our level II ultrasound today and it took forever because baby A was not cooperating for his photos. We met with the high risk specialist after the ultrasound. Everything is mostly good with some exceptions.

Baby A has one bad kidney. The specialist told us that he will probably need surgery after he is born. We are going to see a pediatric urologist in a few weeks. Essentially the kidney is dead and they will have to monitor for other problems. The other kidney is very good so that is good news.

We read up on it when we got home and it looks like he has MCKD, Multi-cystic Kidney Disease. From what we have been able to read online, most urologists these days are not removing the bad kidney, but monitoring it. That is good that he won't be in surgery hopefully right away, if ever.

Baby B has a placenta issue which may cause problems with her growth. She is small now, but they said as long as she grows at the same pace it should be fine. If she slows down, I will be on complete bed rest until they are born. We go back in 3 weeks to the specialist for a growth scan and to check the kidney.

Here are some of their pictures:

They are laying in a T right now. He is up and down with his head on my bladder (which I could have said before the ultrasound) and she is laying across the top. They spend alot time flipping around and kicking each other. It is funny to watch.
